Immerse yourself in the art of plein air painting in this intensive workshop, while we paint outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature! We will cover techniques for successful plein air painting, including how to simplify the big shapes and noisy details of a landscape, how to use temperature shifts and value ranges to make your paintings sing, and how to use a combination of hard and soft edges to help strengthen your painting. This workshop is all about capturing the moment and light with paint. It’s about working quickly to record the scene and to capture the essence of your surroundings. And most importantly, it’s about having fun!
The session will begin with a demo by the instructor, followed by ample time for you to paint, during which you will get personalized input from the instructor. Demos will be done in oil paints, but you may use any paints of your choice during our day of plein air painting in the park.
