About us
The Portland Australian Football Club (PAFC) (Instagram) is Portland’s local Australian Rules Football club competing in the United States Australian Football League (USAFL). We field both men’s (the Steelheads) and women’s/non-binary (the Sockeyes) teams and welcome players of all backgrounds, skill levels, and athletic experience.
Australian rules football — or footy — is a fast-paced, physical field sport that blends continuous play, kicking, catching, and running. It’s distinct from American football, soccer, and rugby, and offers a great mix of fitness, skills, and and teamwork.
Whether you’re curious about a new sport, looking to test yourself physically, or want to join a community of friendly, active people in Portland (who also love beer), we have a home for you. We run practices, local metro games, and tournaments throughout the season, and we’re always open to new players and supporters.
We have a casual, easy-to-learn indoor season starting on Sunday, February 1st -- come have a kick!
