What we’re about

Hi Everyone! We'll be honest, we've never organized a Meetup group before! That being said, when we saw this group was about to disappear, we just couldn't let that happen! Let's bring this group back to life! Friendships and Happy Hours await!

(Everything below is from the OG organizers :) Suggestions are welcome! )

Are you new in town or otherwise looking to meet other couples for friendship and good cheer?

ABOUT US
We are a very friendly group of couples, aged 45-69(ish), who are looking to socialize and make new friends. Many of us are empty nesters, some of us are retired, quite a few have moved here from other parts of the country. We live everywhere from Vancouver down to West Linn. What we have in common is a desire to make new friends in a casual setting while we explore local watering holes.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are in the same zone age-wise (if you are under 45 you may feel a bit out of place).
  • You are committed to SHOWING UP. We are only able to open up our events to 5-10 couples due to venue space limitations and there are usually many more who want to attend. We almost always have a waitlist. If you don't show up, that means someone else missed out.
  • You are part of a couple. There are lots of other Meetups for individuals who are looking to connect or just explore happy hours around town.
  • You are seeking friendship ONLY. Enough said :-)

GROUP RULES

  • You must have a profile picture that shows your face (no avatars or long-distance views). We use these to identify members as they arrive.
  • No-shows will be removed from the group (unless you notify/explain ahead of time).

HOW WE WORK

  • We post Meetups as the organizers' schedules allow. We are always looking for new suggestions for great places to meet so please let us know!
  • Again, Meetups book up quickly, usually by those who get email alerts when a new Meetup is announced, so you might want to activate this setting.
  • Your RSVP is typically for a couple, so one RSVP is all that is needed for both members to attend.
  • You order and pay for your own drinks. We don't split checks.
  • We are mostly about drinking, less about eating. Sometimes people will also order food, but we are often standing (which makes it easier to mingle) so it is a bit harder to eat. Your call.

We look forward to meeting up!
