Join us for our 10th event and first Hardware Meetup of 2025, hosted by Continuous Solutions. We will be hearing from CEO of Continuous Solutions, Nyah Zarate. Ryan Sayre will share some of his perspective from his long-time role in the hardware community. Dmitriy Moskovkin will present on the importance of compliance testing in hardware product development.

**Nyah Zarate** is the Founder/CEO of[ Continuous Solutions](https://www.continuousolutions.com/), a power and energy R&D firm and product development company based in Portland, OR. Continuous Solutions designs, fabricates, and builds full-scale electric motors and electronics, often in partnership with the Navy and Army. Nyah has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and is a lead inventor and business leader throughout the power system design and development process.

**Ryan Sayre** is a local Portland tech enthusiast active in makerspaces, amateur radio, and vintage computer circles. He maintains a list of tech and tech-adjacent community resources at [skylab.portland.or.us](http://skylab.portland.or.us/). In 1997, he co-founded the [skylab.org](https://skylab.org/) internet co-operative still in service today. When he is not doing casual nerdy things and spending time with family, he manages global business development of EBS cloud storage at Amazon Web Services. He holds an MBA from London Business School and a BS in Computer Science from University of Portland.

**Dmitriy Moskovkin** is the owner of [Refcco](https://refcco.com/), a regulatory compliance, product safety testing, certification, and consulting firm based in Portland, OR. Refcco offers testing and certification services to manufacturers needing to meet safety regulations and industry standards. The company also provides global market access consulting, assisting businesses in navigating foreign market compliance requirements and obtaining necessary approvals. Dmitriy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from OIT and an M.S. in Engineering Technology Management from PSU, with over 15 years of experience in the TIC (testing, inspection, and certification) sector.
