Higher Learning: Poetry Writing Workshop

Details
One of my favorite people in the poetry world, Christopher Luna, will be offering us a poetry writing workshop on 11/15!
Christopher was the first poet laureate of Clark County, WA; he founded and co-hosts the longest-running poetry open mic in the Portland-metro area, Ghost Town Poetry; and he regularly teaches powerful writing workshops.
We will meet at Nalu on the north side of town for great ambiance, amazing company, and beautiful poetry. We’ll plan to do introductions and a short hangout, place any drink orders, and then start the workshop. Bring a pen and notebook to write in. Participants can plan to leave the workshop with at least three drafts of poems. We can’t wait to see you at Nalu! Cannabis friendly.
Registration is required. The cost is a suggested $25 per person. All fees go directly to our wonderful teacher.
From Christopher’s website:
“Engage in the craft of writing poetry as you give form and focus to expression through words. Suitable for all levels, explore poetry through prompts and writing exercises. Attendees will also have the opportunity to read, share, and respond to one another’s works in a group setting that is highly supportive of all writing styles.
[Christopher’s] poetry writing workshops are for beginners as well as more experienced writers. Poetry encourages empathy and compassion, and sparks the shifts in consciousness which lead to healing, personal growth, and an interest in fighting for progressive social change.
We will read and discuss poetry, and write several new poems together. Each workshop will feature at least three timed writing exercises.”
