Surveys have indicated that between 22% to 46% of adults have reported feeling lonely sometimes or always. This is a low estimate since the sense of social isolation has been greatly worsened by the impact of the Covid pandemic. Making friends can be challenging due to busy schedules, social anxiety, lack of confidence or skill, fear of rejection, perceived differences in interests and values, and technology overuse.

In this meeting, you will gain hands on experience in building closeness with like-minded individuals. You will be guided through an interpersonal meditation to connect deeply in ways that you’ve never experienced before, to see beyond the surface as you look into the eyes of the person who is looking back at you. You will be given questions to answer with a workshop partner that take you beyond your social facades, to the core of who you each are. By the end of this session, you will leave with more tools to build meaningful relationships.

This meetup will take place on the Zoom platform, which allows for tiny visuals of all attendees and also small breakout groups to have private open-hearted conversations just like we've always done previously in person prior to the pandemic. If you're not used to meeting online, it's normal to feel anxious. We really hope you will attend and gain support, centeredness, and inspiration. Members of Seattle ACL will also be attending this meeting.

A donation of $10 USD (or any small amount that reflects the economic situation in your country) is requested at www.livewithacl.org, but this is purely voluntary and based on ability to pay. Our primary goal is to be of service during this time of global upheaval.
