Read Harder Book Challenge 2026 Kick Off Discussion @ Novel

Book Riot has released their 2026 Read Harder Book Challenge. The challenge is simple - there's a list of 24 objectives ranging from genre types to books written by diverse authors. The goal: expand your reading and MAYBE get through some of those books on your TBR pile.

Instead of all of us reading the same book, we'll actually all try to complete the same task(s) before the next meet up with whatever book you want to read on your own. We'll vote on a task to complete, do a little book research and give suggestions and ideas. Then the next meet up, we'll discuss the book we chose to read and select the next task. You can track your tasks completed on a PDF.

Our first meet up, we'll talk about the challenge and any tasks people are looking forward to. Then we'll vote on our first task(s) and decide how often we want to try and meet.

So, it'll be a book club without the assigned book - so you only read the books you choose!

I have reached out to Novel about registering a book club in order to get 10% discount and to ask their preferred days for groups to meet. The date/time may change based on their feedback.
