This event is to attend one of the Jane's Walks in Portland (description below). Afterwards if people are up for it, let's go to Eighty 8 Donuts to hang out and chat.

Jane's Walk is an annual global festival of free, volunteer-led walking conversations inspired by community activist Jane Jacobs. Jane’s Walks combine the simple act of exploring a place with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement.

We will meetup to go on a walk led by Markos Miller, from GrowSmart Maine, about the history of the neighborhood around current day Franklin Arterial (how it was fractured and destroyed to make way for the bigger street) and the plan to restore Franklin Street to the urban fabric of the Portland peninsula. Read the walk's descriptions here! This will be a 1 hour urban walking tour. Participants should have good walking shoes and be able to walk on irregular surfaces.

Meeting spot: Lincoln Park, outdoors, near Federal and Congress Streets.

I'll post updates in the comments so keep an eye out for those notifications. Stay home if you're feeling ill or exposed to someone sick
