Portland's first Holochain Meetup: Demos, Gamesplanations, and Other Stuff!

Details

Join Eric Bear, Holochain Community and Events Director, and Michael Dougherty, a lead developer on Holochain Core at this Meetup to connect with other local distributed systems lovers and explore ways to start building the Next Net now.

Come and learn about how Holochain's focus on emergence - a bottom-up social impact strategy - can lead to exponential levels of sense-making, self-organisation and adaptivity, the capacities humanity needs in the face of existential risks.

Who's it for?
This event is for anyone interested in learning more about Holochain, distributed applications, and the world made possible when people connect directly without the stronghold of powerful centralized institutions.

We welcome community organizers, developers, entrepreneurs, academics, and activists to discuss Holochain as one of the tools to build the next net, one that fosters decentralized coordination at all scales.

Agenda
We'll will begin by briefly introducing ourselves to learn what everyone's coming for, then get into a brief introduction to Holochain tailored to the interest of the group, and then break out into smaller groups to do demos, play with code, discuss the architecture, and underlying philosophy.

Location
Private residence in NE Portland, near NE Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and NE Shaver St.

Call/Text for the address @ +1 561 307 7718

About Holochain
Holochain takes a radically different approach than blockchain, embedding principles of biomimicry and commons into the core of its design.

Pickles
Bear loves them. If you bring pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, or something of the like, you'll get extra stickers, a big laugh, and a high five or hug (whichever you prefer).

Hope to see you there!

P.S.
I'm 100% serious about the pickles thing.
