Polling to Pole Position: Real-Time Data for Power Apps with SSE + PCF

Why settle for polling when you can take pole position? Most Power Apps makers simulate “real time” with timers, Dataverse, or Power Automate, but these approaches lag behind when speed matters. In this session, we’ll use a live race car simulator to show how telemetry like speed, RPM, temperature, lap position can stream directly into Power Apps using Server-Sent Events (SSE), a custom PCF control, and a Custom Connector. We’ll walk through the architecture, explore the PCF listener code, and demonstrate how this pattern achieves sub-second updates that keep your app in the fast lane—without Dataverse or Power Automate in the loop.
