Come join us in our collaborative data vis activity, Craggy!

We are looking at the King County Evictions Data, a dataset that was compiled for Symposium for Data Science and Statistics 2019. The dataset is available here: http://github.com/pdxrlang/craggy_2019 and it can be installed as a data package into R by following the instructions in the readme.md file.

Whether you're curious about learning about spatial data analysis or about questions about homelessness, we want you to participate! No expertise required.

Feel free to come for part or all of the schedule below. If you just want to share some insights on the dataset, you can just come at 3 PM, or if you just want to work with other people on the data, you can come at 1 PM.

Schedule:

1-3 PM: Dedicated time to in-person collaboration on the dataset. Bring questions/observations you want to work on for the dataset, and we’ll try to find some collaborators to work on it with you. Note you don't have to be an expert, just be curious.

3-4 PM: Presentation & Sharing about the Data. Every group will have an opportunity to give a short (5 min or less) lightning talk about the data. Remember, it doesn't have to be finished and polished, we are just sharing insights about the data and learning from each other.

4-5 PM: Discussion about the data. What were some issues with the dataset? Could we use it to answer our questions about the data? If not, what could have made the datasets better?

Participation in this activity requires adhering to the PDX R Lang Code of Conduct: https://pdxrlang.com/code_of_conduct/
