Skeptics in the Pub August- a look at S̶n̶a̶k̶e̶Essential-Oil Salespeople

-For August, we're classing it up a bit and meeting at the Horse Brass Pub! I think this month we've found a good place to discuss together, and drink sophisticated English beers =)

-How many different forms of B.S. can you throw together into one place at one time? I'll bet these folks can stretch the imagination. We'll take a look at dōTERRA, just one company that markets "Essential Oils" for treating about everything under the sun, and packages it all together in a multi-level marketing scheme to boot!

We'll cover what they sell, how they sell it, and the sometimes vulnerable people they sell it to.

This popped up on my radar thanks to an upcoming "webinar" by a mom claiming to have "reversed her son's ADHD/Autism symptoms" using a whole host of "natural remedies" as well as dōTERRA products. Well apparently the essential oils worked so well for her and her son, she's selling them now.
-Are there any health claims, someone selling alternative medicine won't make? Good question, because autism and even cancer sure isn't excluded from that list...

After covering these products and business/social media practices, we'll have a chance to see some of these marketers in action. There are dōTERRA events coming up on the 28th (online) and next month the 5th (NE Alberta) for those interested =)
