I think I’m delusional but I sense a dry period settling into January. With a meager snowpack and no major storm in sight, not sure how long the hood resorts can sustain operations. It never hurts to plan ahead.

If you haven’t done it, or even if you already have, the powder highway should be on every skiers/borders bucket list. It’s cool to drive through Canadian mountain ranges, hopping from one small quaint town to another, and the skiing isn’t bad either. I plan to coordinate this trip with a small group of people from Seattle ski meetup but I would love to have a nimble rider or two from Portland join the adventure. Unlike elsewhere in the PNW, powder highway resorts are close to full operations currently. Dates and itinerary may change pending snow conditions but tentatively I’ll follow the schedule similar to the following:

Day 1: Drive to Kamloops (or stop by Baker or Whistler for couple days)
Day 2,3, 4: Ski Sun Peaks (half day on day 4 and drive to Revelstoke)
Day 5, 6, 7: Ski Revelstoke
Day 8: Drive to Radium hot springs and re-charge
Day 9, 10, 11: Ski Panorama
Day 12 to 14: Drive to and ski Red or Schweitzer before coming home.
