What we’re about

Are you a solo/single/widowed/divorced parent living in Portland looking to connect with other parents who understand the joys and challenges of raising children alone?

Look no further! Join our meetup group where you can meet other single, divorced, or widowed parents who share similar interests and experiences. Whether you're looking for parenting advice, support, or just some adult conversation, this is the place for you.

The goal is to create a space for people to plan activities and events for parents and sometimes kids too, so come join us and build a supportive community in Portland!

GROUP RULES

  1. This is a Friendship & Support Group — Not a Dating Site
    • Our group is for building friendships and creating a supportive community for single parents. It’s not a dating site. Not everyone here is "single" or looking for a partner - please respect that.
    • Inappropriate messages or behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe will lead to removal from the group.
  2. Real Names & Photos Required
    • For safety and to help people recognize each other at events, members must use a real first name and a clear photo of themselves.
    • Last names are optional, but fake profiles or misleading information will not be allowed.
  3. RSVP Policy — Be Courteous
    • If you RSVP "Yes" to an event but can’t make it, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" as soon as possible. This helps organizers plan and prevents wasted spots.
    • No-shows: If you repeatedly RSVP and don’t show up without notice, you may be removed from the group.
  4. Be Kind, Respectful, and Inclusive
    • This group welcomes all single parents — regardless of background, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or relationship status.
    • We're all navigating the challenges of single-parenting which is sometimes messy. Be kind to each other. Bullying or antisocial behavior is not tolerated.
  5. Privacy & Safety
    • What’s shared in the group stays in the group. Please respect each other’s privacy — no sharing personal details or photos without permission.
    • If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable with a member's behavior, report it to an organizer immediately.
  6. Children at Events
    • Some events may be kid-centric, while others may be adults-only. Check event descriptions carefully before RSVPing.
    • When organizing an event, be sure to specify whether your activity is for families or adults.
