EverWalk 1st Saturday - Peninsula Park / Arbor Lodge

Details
Come walk with us in the Piedmont and Arbor Lodge neighborhoods of north Portland, starting with the magnificent Peninsula Park Rose Garden. (Come early if you'd like to stroll the gardens before the walk.)
This park is definitely a high-point of the area, established by the city's 1912 "City Beautiful" campaign and completed in 1913. We'll start here with a literal 'walk in the park', and then set out into the neighborhood, taking paths through a couple other parks along the way.
Distance: The route I've planned is a little under 6 miles, mostly flat, although there's plenty of opportunity for folks to shorten the walk if needed.
Pace: We usually do about 3 miles per hour, with occasional pauses to let people in the back catch up. This isn't a power-walk, and we don't leave people behind.
Parking: Free street parking in the neighborhood.
Leashed dogs are invited, and this is a rain-or-shine walk.
This event is part of EverWalk, a growing movement to inspire people everywhere to make walking a major part of our physical and mental health, while building community by walking side by side, leaving our differences behind.
