Wake-Up Walk - Powell Butte

This one's for the early risers. If that's you, the come join us for a hike around Powell Butte, Portland's 2nd largest park (after Forest Park).
The park sprawls over an extinct volcano. This area is not flat, and while some of the paths are paved, many are not. When we've done this before, we walked 5.75 miles with 770 feet elevation gain; expect close to the same this time. We'll pause to catch our breath now and again and enjoy the views, but for the most part we'll keep a steady pace, figure about 3 miles per hour.
If you're new to the area, this park should be on your list, and this is a good opportunity to check it out!

The park gates open at 7:00am. Let's get in early and get roaming!

Dogs are invited. Please note, per park rules they must stay on leash and on the trails.
