The Outing: Join us for our first 2026 flatwater kayak outing as we paddle scenic Lacamas Lake and if water level permits, Lacamas Creek.
Meeting Location/Put-in: We'll meet at 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Park, on the SE corner of the lake. Lacamas Lake is located just north of Camas, WA, near Everett St and NW Lake Rd (see directions below). Please be on time -- we have a few things to do before we get on the water. Parking is available at the park.
If You Sign Up: If you sign up and are unable to attend, please cancel your signup on Meetup. Please include your FULL name, email. cell number, and the name and number of an emergency contact for the leader.
Outing donation: Sierra Club members $2, non-members $4, cash or check only (make checks to Sierra Club) -- we don't do Venmo or take credit cards. Outing donations support the work of the Loo Wit Group, Sierra Club.
Kayak Rentals: Call (360) 609-1212 for information. Note that rentals may not be available this early in the season.
What to wear and bring: Avoid cotton! Polyester or nylon dries much faster if you get wet and will keep you warmer. Hat/sunglasses: If it's sunny, a broad-brimmed hat and sunglasses will protect your head and eyes. If rain is predicted, bring a rain parka. Footwear: river sandals or water shoes.
Lunch/water: We'll pull in for lunch on the return paddle. Bring lunch and a full, 1-qt water bottle.
Weather update/reminder : You'll receive a weather update and reminder on May 4/Mon. If rain, windy conditions, or any severe weather is predicted, the outing will be rescheduled.
