What we’re about
Rip City Debaters is merging with At The Rivers Edge Toastmasters!
- On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of each month, we plan to have a traditional Toastmasters meeting, with prepared speakers, an impromptu speaking session and an evaluation session.
- On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, instead of the prepared speakers, there will be a debate, followed by the imprompte speaking session and an evaluation session.
Whether you are new to debate and want to learn more, or are a seasoned orator, consider yourself invited!
Our vision is to create a debate club in which a variety of subjects can be discussed in a safe, civil, and supportive environment.
Thinking outside the box is encouraged. Regardless of what debates ensue, we are all on the same side in that we are there to improve our public speaking, leadership, and active listening skills.
This is an apolitical club according to Toastmasters guidelines, available to all online and in person for to those based in Portland, Oregon "Rip City"!
