Ravishing Rieslings - (Some of) Europe's Best White Wines - BYOB or Just Taste

Let's cool down with some chill Euro Rieslings. Our last Riesling tasting was only German, but this time it will be all of Europe to include Austria, Alsace France, and any other region you see fit in Europe.

Rieslings are the fast becoming one of the most loved white wine varietals. People enjoy the tart acidity with luscious Green Apple, Pineapple, elegant mineral and aromatic flower/herbal notes.

Rieslings are very versatile with food. They pair well with everything from spicy Thai to most fish, including sushi and even some Mexican. So lets sip on the salacious yet savory goodness.

The rules: Bring a $27 European Riesling or throw in $20 to taste thru. Minimum retail on entered bottles $27

Bottle Lineup Limit 12 Bottles. The First 12 bottles to show up will be the tasting Lineup. Sorry we have to limit this to 12 bottles.

$10 if you bring a bottle, $20 to just taste. We will put the fees in a pot and the winner, (whoever brings the best rated bottle will take home the pot (Minus food expense). Blind Tasting.

Since the tasting fee is $20 the winner's pot should be around $200 so it's worth it to bring something great to try and win.

This event will be at Fogelbo, a National Historical Place, most likely on the deck as we did in past. Please park next door at the Broder Soder Cafe Parking lot.

***** Important Note***** Including those on the wait list - IF you cannot come, then remove yourself off the list. If you're on the waitlist and cannot come, remove yourself of the waitlist since it defaults to your spot. This includes your +1. There will likely be a waitlist on this and when flakes blow off the event, they are screwing over the people on the waitlist. So if you RSVP make sure you can come. It is amazing how many people suddenly are ill just before these events. ----------

This is Portland's Best Value Wine Event. The last 100 times, everyone got to taste at least 12 wines in the tasting, plus drink from pre-tasting wines and post tasting wines (often some high end), plus enjoy an extensive spread of meats and cheeses. Compare that to spending on average, $15 just for a single glass of decent wine in a restaurant. Hands down, this is Portland's best value wine event.

Once again, whoever brings the best wine (blind rated), will take home the pot. We will taste blind. The wines, that is.
