The Witches Are Coming

A low-pressure book club for people who like reading but have zero interest in being quizzed, judged or assigned homework. If you like books but feel weirdly intimidated by book clubs and/or have never been in one before, this is for you.

Our first pick is The Witches Are Coming by Lindy West. It is said to be sharp, funny, angry in a useful way and it’s broken into essays you can read in small, realistic doses.

We’ll talk about what resonated, what challenged us, what made us laugh and what stuck. Snacks encouraged. Opinions welcome. Silence respected.

This is not a book report, a competition or a test of how smart or well-read you are. Read the whole book, some of it or just one essay and show up curious.
