Portrait Show - February 2013

Open Invitation to Meet-Up Members from Cynthia (the old lady in the hat) for a proposed show at North Bank Artists Gallery. Please reply to this email by Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 if you are interested. Thanks. Cynthia (Gallery Committee Chair at North Bank Artists Gallery, Vancouver WA)

North Bank Artists Gallery (a co-op) in Vancouver, WA would like to display
the art of up-coming-under-exposed artists from our area. We have a planned portrait show February 2013. This exhibition will be in two parts - reciprocal portraits (any medium any form, any style) between an artist outside our gallery trading with an artist within our gallery. Are you interested in trading portraits with a member of NBAG? The second part of the exhibition would be invited portraits by many artists. This is slightly different from how I described the exhibition in my previous email.

Details for Reciprocal Portraits:  You need to complete your work and have it ready to display by the end of January 2013. The show will be curated and hung on the 29th of January and open on the 1st of February 2013. You will be invited to the opening. If you finish your piece early your piece may be part of the promotional postcard and press release (we would need the jpeg by the 1st week of January). NBAG asks 50% commission from non-members so price your piece accordingly - this means something only if you sell your piece (the gallery gets a commission if you sell the portrait). This is an opportunity to stretch your imagination and also to hang your art in a popular gallery. Your work will be on the gallery's website with your name and contact information. You will meet many new artists and perhaps make a lasting bonds.

MORE details including the Invited Artist Portraits: A portrait may be in any medium and may be any size or shape; abstract, realistic, surreal. Anything you say is a portrait IS a portrait. Please send me a small jpeg or two demonstrating your style and I will present images to the members who are not already matched up to an artist. I will contact you without delay after the meeting and I will give you contact information for the artist you will be trading portraits with. Of course you may not match with anybody but I will let you know one way or the other.  If are interested in being in the portrait show as an invited guest only, please send a jpeg of the piece you would like to submit for the show and I will present it at the Gallery Committee meeting this Sunday for acceptance (include size information with jpeg and contact information so I can reach you). No guarantees you are accepted until we see your work. Questions? Write to me directly. Cynthia -- email is [address removed]

For reference, you can see member's styles at  -- click on "artist members". One member, Nouspace, is an internet radio station. Artist Sally Heppner is taking a time out and won't be exchanging a portrait for this show. All the other members will participate in the Portrait Show February 2013. Thank you for your interest!!
