Ross Island

Details
This a great place to explore with beautiful views of the city and opportunities to see some wildlife without having to travel far from Portland.
All events are beginner friendly unless otherwise specified. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about anything kayak related, as well.
I have extra kayaks (with paddles & life jackets) that I can bring, or bring your own & join us. If I bring a kayak for you, a $25-$35 donation is requested, but if you are facing financial hardship please let me know.
We will meet at Sellwood Riverfront (dog) Park. If the parking lot is crowded, feel free to drop off your kayak up front by the restroom first, and then go look for a place to park. After launching off of the dock, beach or sometimes steps, we will paddle by Oaks Park, along a row of houseboats, and into a protected channel next to Ross Island.
Please dress for the weather and avoid wearing cotton if possible. Also, bringing a change of shoes & pants/shorts is always a good idea. Sometimes we opt for food & beverages afterward at the Muddy Rudder nearby.
