Real time database replication using Kafka Connect
Abstract:
This use case is about real time database replication, extracting the CDCs from a legacy database in AS400 using a third party tool, processing using Apache Kafka®, Kafka Streams and Kubernetes and populating Cloud databases using custom Kafka Connect. All Kafka components are running on AWS, which is composed of MSK, EC2 Clusters for Kafka Connect, and Kubernetes Cluster for Kafka Streams.
Bio
Graduated in Computer Science from Unicamp and with a MBA in Human Resources at FIA. Works in IT since 1991, acting in development, consulting, training, quality, implementing centers of excellence and performance optimization in large companies.
Serial entrepreneur, co-founded in 2002 Inmetrics, a brazilian company specialized in IT efficiency, where acted at service delivery, structured Human Resources area and started his international career in 2010 consolidating the Chilean subsidiary.
Currently, Gil is the TruStep's main executive, where he leads all the company's services, which includes implementing Big Data workloads on the cloud using Apache Kafka, Apache Flink and related AWS services.
