OUR NEXT HIKE - PR3 FELGUEIRAS - LEVADAS DE JUGUEIROS

Thanks to all who came to our last hike near Barcelos. We had a great day of hiking in the forests and hills.

Our next hike is in the woods between Guimaraes and Felgueiras
PR3 FELGUEIRAS - LEVADAS DE JUGUEIROS

The weather has been really bad for the past few weeks. Hence the lack of hikes! But the forecast for next week is good and we will definately be experiencing Spring temperatures soon.

The next hike has been recomended by Antonio and it looks beautiful.

The hike is approximately 10km long and starts in the small village of Jugueiros, not far from Felgueiras. Please note that the journey by car from central Porto is approximately 1 hour.

The trail will wind through forests of Oak and Pine and will follow levadas, streams and old droving tracks. We will cross a medieval bridge, pass a 12th century Chapel and see a large waterfall. Hopefully it will be warm and we will be bombarded by spring flowers. It will be a relaxing springtime hike.

The hike has only about 100 metres of elevation and is classified as easy.
It will not be very difficult, but please only sign up if you have the fitness to walk 10km and do some gentle climbing. The forecast is good, but please bring a coat, waterproof boots and preferably poles, a sunhat is probably a good idea as well.

Bring lots of water and a picnic lunch. It will be about a 3 hour walk, plus some time for lunch.

We will meet at a cafe near the trailhead. Once you RSVP I will send the cafe location and meeting time.

We will keep the numbers to less than 10. So places will be first come first served.

This hike is only suitable for people with their own transport (or a friend with a car!!).

Please note that this is a purely social not for profit group. The hike will be held on a publicly accessible marked trail, but all liability for your safety lies with yourselves. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right walking equipment and have sufficient fitness to complete the hike.
