OUR NEXT HIKE - PR3 BRAGA DISTRICT - TRILHO DE TORRINHEIRAS

I know its short notice, but the weather looks cooler next week than this.
So lets squeeze in another walk before it gets too hot.
Manuel Antonio has offered up this hike and it looks great.

THE NEXT HIKE IS PLANNED FOR TUESDAY JUNE 3RD.

PR3 CABECEIRAS DE BASTO (BRAGA DISTRICT) - TRILHO DE TORRINHEIRAS

This 10km hike to the north of Cabeceiras De Basto starts at a fairly high elevation and climbs only 300 metres to the tops of the hills. Next week there is likely to be a fair wind on the hilltops so it should be a breezy sunny walk without too much heat.

The trail is a mixture of paths through farmland and aldeias. We will pass into woodland along small rivers before emerging onto the hilltops where there will be fantastic views of the surrounding serra.

Please note that the journey by car from central Porto is approximately one and a half hours.

It will not be a difficult hike , but some stamina is needed to climb 300metres. Please only sign up if you have the fitness to do the walk. Please bring proper boots, a sunhat is essential as well.

Bring lots and lots of water (if the sun is out you will need it), sunscreen and a picnic lunch. It will be about a 4 hour walk, including some time for lunch.

This time there is no cafe near the start of the trail, so stop for coffee and water on your way! We will meet at the trailhead. Once you RSVP I will send the location and meeting time.

We will keep the numbers to less than 10. So places will be first come first served.

This hike is only suitable for people with their own transport (or a friend with a car!!).

Please note that this is a purely social not for profit group. The hike will be held on a publicly accessible marked trail, but all liability for your safety lies with yourselves. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right walking equipment and have sufficient fitness to complete the hike.
