Portrait Drills

Join us for 1 hour and 45 mins of online portrait drawing every Monday evening, live via Zoom. This class is online and is therefore open to everyone in the world with access to internet.

AGENDA

1. To start, I will teach some portrait drawing tips to get you started like facial proportions and structure.
2. Next, we will warm up with short 1 and 2 minute portrait poses using reference photos, followed by 5 and 10mins.
3. 5 Min Break
4. Finally, 20 and 30-minute portrait poses.
5. Share our work with the class!

For these portrait practices, we will use reference photos of people of various ages, genders, ethnicities - you will draw approximately 10-15 different people in one Zoom session.

Take this class to improve your portrait drawing skills, master expressions and likeness through portrait repetitions and speed.

• You will receive the Zoom link once you register.

How late can I join a session?
You can join up to one hour late before the end of class. You may leave whenever you like! This is your time so you can make use of it how you like.

Do I need any past experience to come to a life drawing class?
No. Everyone has to start somewhere, and these exercises will help you loosen up whether beginner, intermediate or advance. However, please be prepared to jump right in and start drawing right away with us.

If I miss a class, can I watch a recorded version?
No, these classes are not recorded.

Will you teach me drawing?
I do give a foundational portrait drawing demo at the beginning for approximately 15 minutes. This gives you the basics and structure of how to draw portraits. This workshop is not teaching (I have other courses for that) as the best learning comes from DOING. This workshop is all about DOING.

You can add your photo right here on the meetup group or tag on @nicolehartstudio.

What do I need to join this online class?
All you need is a computer, laptop or tablet that has a webcam and speaker, a connection to the internet and some space and materials for drawing comfortably. The courses are taught using Zoom, and the link can be accessed after purchase.
