Edna Allen Languages is offering conversation meetups to allow you to practise Portuguese with an experienced teacher and other learners who are “no mesmo barco” [on the same boat].

During each session you will be able to
- express yourself
- meet other learners
- discuss interesting topics, and / or
- play games
Each time we meet we are going to do something different. It would go from a simple conversation who you are and what you do, to game/quiz night, or a guided conversation within specific topics.
We have week nights and weekend meetings.
We may organise face-to-face and virtual meetings to practise Portuguese and to make friends.
In our get togethers, we may choose to have:
- Free Chat / Bate-papo
- Teacher Guided Conversations
- Meetings for Beginner Speakers
- Meetings for Intermediate, Advanced and Fluent speakers
- Games,
- Quizzes,
- Picnics,
- etc.
----- And you may even get prizes at the end of game nights! -----
Although the teacher is Brazilian, speakers of European and other variants of the Portuguese language are welcome to join us.

Os jogos serão fornecidos pelo Chancers and Counters e estarão em inglês.
Mas atenção: a missão é clara — nos comunicar em português o máximo possível! Mesmo que as regras estejam em inglês, o desafio é conversar, negociar, rir e jogar em português.
Dependendo do jogo escolhido, o grupo pode ser dividido em até 2 grupos, o que ajuda todo mundo a falar mais.

- Pessoas que querem praticar português de forma descontraída
- Quem quer socializar, conhecer gente nova e fazer amigos
- Não importa se você é tímido(a) ou super falante, os jogos ajudam a quebrar o gelo
### Reservas e pontualidade
- A reserva do espaço será feita 10 dias antes do evento
- Para garantir sua vaga, é necessário se inscrever até 11 dias antes da data
- Chegar no horário é importante para aproveitarmos melhor os jogos e a experiência
### Valor
£15 por pessoa, incluindo:
✔ Reserva do espaço por 3 horas

✔ Organização do evento
Pagamento antecipado é obrigatório para garantir a realização do evento.
### Política de cancelamento
- Cancelamentos até 11 dias antes do evento: reembolso do valor pago (descontadas as taxas de pagamento do PayPal)
- Cancelamentos com menos de 10 dias ou não comparecimento: sem reembolso
- Caso o local não tenha mesas disponíveis no momento da reserva, o evento será remarcado para o primeiro domingo subsequente disponível e os participantes serão comunicados nesta plataforma.

We begin with essential greetings and everyday expressions and use them immediately in relaxed, meaningful conversation. Instead of memorising lists or rushing through topics, we focus on understanding and practical use. Progress happens at the pace of the group—moving forward only when students can confidently apply what they’ve learned.
This course is ideal if you want learning to feel natural, supportive, and effective rather than overwhelming or rigid.
