Learn and Practise Portuguese while Meeting People and Socialising
Olá! Tudo bem?
Edna Allen Languages is offering conversation meetups to allow you to practise Portuguese with an experienced teacher and other learners who are “no mesmo barco” [on the same boat].
During each session you will be able to
- express yourself
- meet other learners
- discuss interesting topics, and / or
- play games
Each time we meet we are going to do something different. It would go from a simple conversation who you are and what you do, to game/quiz night, or a guided conversation within specific topics.
We have week nights and weekend meetings.
We may organise face-to-face and virtual meetings to practise Portuguese and to make friends.
In our get togethers, we may choose to have:
- Free Chat / Bate-papo
- Teacher Guided Conversations
- Meetings for Beginner Speakers
- Meetings for Intermediate, Advanced and Fluent speakers
- Games,
- Quizzes,
- Picnics,
- etc.
----- And you may even get prizes at the end of game nights! -----
Although the teacher is Brazilian, speakers of European and other variants of the Portuguese language are welcome to join us.

Depois do sucesso do nosso encontro no café, decidimos que o nosso grupose encontrará mensalmento para muito bate papo.
Estamos prontos para o próximo e desta vez ao ar livre!
Onde? Keynsham Memorial Park
Quando? Domingo, 1º de junho, às 10h30 da manhã
Para quem? Homens e mulheres, nativos, iniciantes ou falantes de todos os níveis e todas as variantes do português
A proposta continua simples: reunir falantes de português de todos os níveis para um bate-papo leve, sem formalidades, sem aulas e sem pressão. Só uma boa conversa e a chance de conhecer gente nova enquanto curtimos uma manhã ensolarada - Esperamos!
Cada um traz seu próprio lanche, bebida, cobertor de piquenique e muita vontade de conversar. Se quiser compartilhar, ótimo – mas não é obrigatório.
Nos encontraremos em um ponto agradável do parque (marcado no mapa com o endereço) e deixaremos a conversa fluir naturalmente. Se o clima estiver instável, procuraremos outro cantinho coberto por lá mesmo.
Atualizações sobre o clima (ou mudanças de local dentro do parque) serão postadas na descrição do evento na manhã do dia 1º.

We know not everyone can make it to our in-person meetups, so we’re bringing the good vibes online!
Join us for a relaxed and friendly Zoom chat where we can connect, practise Portuguese, and share a few laughs.

Time: 7:00–8:10 PM
Where: Zoom (link will be sent to the email you RSVP with)
What’s Happening: Think of it as a casual hangout, not a class. You'll get the chance to:- Meet fellow Portuguese learners from near and far
- Swap tips, stories, and inspiration
- Practise speaking in small, friendly groups
Throughout the evening, we’ll mix things up by randomly pairing you in breakout rooms for short chats — a great way to meet new people without pressure.
To make the most of it: Try to join from a quiet spot, use headphones if you have them, and make sure your Zoom app is up to date. That way, we can all hear and be heard clearly.
An attendee limit has been set up as a way to make this meeting small enough to allow space for everyone to express themselves.
