Founders Better World Coffee: Tuesday 7/7
Details
What might happen, in our community and around the world, if once a month—on 7/7, 8/8, 9/9, 10/10 etc.—we encouraged each other to do one thing to make our corner of the world a bit better?
That's exactly what Ami Dar, founder of idealist.org asked, and this is Portland's answer.
We are Portland's startup founders. We are Portland's social entrepreneurs. We are Portland's business owners. We make business, and we make business do good things.
First, we're going gather at the asscrack of the morning (8:00am) at Portland's Honey Latte Cafe.
Honey Latte Cafe was founded with a love for serving people, establishing lasting relationships and cultivating a community. Their focus is to be able to provide a safe and welcoming space where people can come to connect with others who share the same appreciation for quality coffee, tasty plant-based bites and human connection.
Around 9:00am after some great coffee and way too much caffeine we're going to B-Line Urban Delivery a Certified B Corporation seeking to enrich the fabric of our cities by reducing congestion and CO2 emissions, developing local green-collar jobs, partnering with local manufacturers and small businesses, doing our share to help those in need in our community, and generally believing in the premise that business can be a catalyst for positive change and has a responsibility to the common good.
From 9:00am to 10:00am we'll hear from B-Line founder Franklin Jones at their Headquarters (1140 SE 7th Ave, Ste. 190) about the ins and outs of starting up a mission based business in Portland and hearing what's working and where they could use some help.
Our Meetup Group, strong in entrepreneur and founder street cred, will offer ideas to increase revenue and overall positive impact.
