Magnus Hagander - Secure PostgreSQL Deployments

Details
To escape Swedish winter for New York in December, Magnus Hagander, core PostgreSQL team member, speaker at technology conferences around the world, and avid sailor has offered to talk to NYCPUG in December. After weeks of trying to figure out what he would talk about, Magnus agreed to present on a topic near to his heart: "Secure PostgreSQL Deployments"
PostgreSQL supports several options for securing communications when
deployed outside the typical webserver/database combination, or in
high security environments. This talk will go into some details about
the features that make this possible. The main areas discussed are:
• Securing the PostgreSQL infrastructure and runtime environment
• Securing the channel between client and server using SSL, including an overview of the threats and how to secure against them
• Securing the login process with methods including LDAP, Kerberos or SSL certificates
Please join us December 15 at 6:30pm at Goldman Sachs on 200 West St, for food, fun and firande (which is Swedish for "celebration") for our last meetup of 2014!
We will be going to El Vez afterwards.
