Join us virtually on January 26, 2021 as Andreas Scherbaum presents, "Managing PostgreSQL with Ansible".
Ansible is an open-source configuration management and deployment tool, which can be used to manage a fleet of servers and software installations at scale.
PostgreSQL is the world's most advanced Open Source relational database.
This talk will introduce Ansible itself, and then show how Ansible is used to install and configure PostgreSQL on a server. Starting by installing the software on different operating systems, apply configuration changes, user and database creation up to starting and stopping the software.
Demos for every step will round out the talk.
Andreas Scherbaum is working with PostgreSQL since 1997. He is involved in several PostgreSQL related community projects, member of the Board of Directors of the European PostgreSQL User Group, and also wrote a PostgreSQL book (in German). Since 2020 he is working as Head of Databases for Adjust GmbH in Germany.
