"Leveraging a PL/RUST Extension to Protect Sensitive Data" with Rajan Palanivel

Details
Join us virtually on Tuesday, October 8th for "Leveraging a PL/RUST Extension to Protect Sensitive Data in PostgreSQL" with Rajan Palanivel.
In this talk, Rajan Palanivel, VP Engineering at Baffle, Inc., will share how a PL/RUST based extension can be used to protect sensitive data in PostgreSQL. Rajan will lead the discussion on how PL/RUST allows you to deploy data-centric security into a managed cloud service as well as the performance benefits of RUST.
The discussion will begin by looking at why current approaches could put sensitive data at risk or negatively impact business processes. Rajan will then share a simple use case like protecting data in lower security environments, and build up to a more complex case like running complex queries and compute-intensive processes on encrypted data in the cloud with an architectural example of an in-use application of this solution at a large financial services organization.
Schedule:
12:00 PM Announcements, speaker introduction, presentation, Q&A.
1:15 PM Closing announcements, wrap up.
1:30 PM Event ends.
The link and detailed joining instructions, including the dial-in numbers for phone access, will be sent by email the day prior to the event, and posted on Meetup for those who have RSVPed "Yes".
