Lo bueno es que vamos a contar con la presencia del conocido experto mundial Franck Pachot, que viene a visitarnos a España exclusivamente para hablarnos a nosotros de Postgres Distribuido.

The Ultimate Scaling Quest: Distributed PostgreSQL

To scale out, one possibility is adding read-replicas and sharding on top of PostgreSQL databases. Another approach is adding SQL features on top of a distributed storage. We will look at the advantages and limitations of both approaches and which workloads they are built for. Then we will deep dive into the architecture of YugabyteDB, which plugs PostgreSQL on top of a Spanner-like architecture to distribute the connections, SQL processing, and tables/indexes data while keeping all ACID properties for global transactions. We will showcase the main benefits of this architecture: elasticity and resilience.
