Welcome to the Therapy Pets in LOAL This group is for pet owners who have therapy pets or are interested in becoming therapy pet teams. Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit, or other furry friend, all are welcome to join. Our goal is to provide support, education, and networking opportunities for therapy pet teams to spread love and comfort to those in need in our community. Come join us for meetups, training sessions, and community outreach events to make a positive impact with your therapy pet!

PAWS TO READ is a great fun program whereby young children come to the Poway Library to read to our dogs from their favorite books. Teams in training can't attend with their dogs but handlers are very welcome to join us and observe what goes on.
Please be aware that the library limits the number of LOAL teams on their roster and at this point we have reached their allowance. However, if at some time in the future a spot opens up, we will be happy to have a new team join us. Please contact the library directly if you are interested in joining us at a future date.

Location not specified yeteet in front of the main entrance at 9:50 am to give the therapy pets an opportunity to "meet and greet." We will then enter the lobby together as a group and sign in at the reception desk. This sign-in process generally takes several minutes, so our actual visit will begin about 10:00. We will visit room-to-room and possibly visit the dining room. Residents may be in bed, or wheelchairs, and walkers.
Teams in Training are welcome.
