Practical Philosophy Meetup - Cologne

Details
Hi folks,
this seshyy, let us discuss the topics of Reality & Time , ‘what is Real’ etc..
A few jump-off points:
• What is real? Is reality based on physical existence, or can metaphysical things be real?
• Is it to determine through just Logic what is real, or can we also trust our intuition?
• Is Reality objective or subjective?
• Is the ‘realness’ of something tied to permanence? Are longer lasting things more real than others? Applies to both people and ideas
• What role does language play in shaping reality? What about internal thought?
• Is there a difference between Truth and Reality?
Let's now consider the concept of Time:
• What is Time? Is it a fundamental aspect of the universe or a social construct?
• How does time affect your day to day life? Are you focused on your schedule or more flowy?
• Does time stress you out in terms of aging, knowing that you have a limited amount of time left on this earth to do something ? If so what should be your needed Accomplishments ?
Or one can see Time just as a social construct , and what would really happen if you just ignore it ?
• If someone isn’t punctual for meeting times, what does that tell you about them?
• If you could live to be 300 years old, would you like that, or prefer to just die at the standard between 80-100?
• Is time, in fact, knid of money, or is it something else entirely
Cheers
Guido

The goal of the Practical Philosophy Club is to create a community that is open to discussing ideas that can be used practically in everyday life. this group isn’t aligning necessarily with the specific scope that „philosophy“ and „practical philosophy“ may have in the academic world **We don't have topics that are off-limits and look to discuss all sides of a topic in order to:
- help you understand your point of view,
- Give you different perspectives, and
- realize that we all have some common ground and just because someone isn't on your "side" doesn't mean they are your enemy.**
We value communication, simplicity, balance, honesty, and discernment as values to live by, and look to build a community around these values. The typical meeting is about 10-15 minutes of banter to warm up before we move to introduce the weekly discussion topics. If the group is large we will split into separate groups so as to maintain a conversational tone within the discussions. With about 15 minutes left in the time, we bring all of the groups together and conclude.
