Dear philosophers,

This week's discussion will be on the topic of "Logic vs Intuition".

We will meet at Bagdad café (inside Medelhavsmuseet), and we start at 18:00.

------

A few jump-off points:

  1. How do we define logic? Is it the same thing as thinking or something else?
  2. How do we define intuition? Is it just fast pattern recognition?
  3. Should intuition guide logic, or should logic discipline intuition?
  4. Which type of problems are best solved with logic and which with intuition?
  5. What is an example from your life that you used logic to solve a problem?
  6. When have you used intuition in your life?
  7. Has there ever been someone in your friend group that everyone loved but you had a bad feeling about?
  8. Can fear and trauma disguise themselves as intuition? How can we tell?
  9. Should we trust intuition, or always verify it with logic? What happens if they conflict?
  10. Are bolt from the blue ideas considered intuition? Where do they come from?
  11. How would we increase or decrease our logic abilities? Would you want to?
  12. How would we increase or decrease our intuition? Would you want to?
  13. When making decisions, how do you personally balance logic and intuition?

As always, feel free to add your own!

Please do remember to RSVP in the meetup app, so we know roughly how many people will show up!
