  • Is integration a two-way process?

### 8. Integration vs Assimilation

*What is the difference between integrating and assimilating?

  • When does integration risk erasing cultural identity?

### 9. Multiple Identities

  • Do multiple identities create conflict or enrichment?

---

# Part IV – Tensions and Challenges (25–30 min)

### 10. Identity Conflicts

  • How do people navigate conflicting identities (e.g., cultural vs professional vs moral)?

### 11. Identity and Power

*Who has the power to define identities in society?

  • How do political or media narratives shape identity categories?

### 12. Fear of Difference

*Why do societies sometimes react negatively to cultural difference?

  • Is the fear of losing identity a legitimate concern?

# Closing Reflection

Final round for everyone:

*What part of your identity feels most essential to you?

  • Is integration easier when identity is flexible?
*What insight from today changed how you think about identity?

---

Optional closing exercise for your group:
Ask everyone to write down five identities they hold (e.g., parent, immigrant, artist, engineer, atheist, etc.). Then ask:

  • Which ones are chosen?
*Which ones are given by society?
  • Which ones could change?
