Eternity and Life after death: Practical philosophy club Stockholm 🇸🇪
Details
Dear all! Tomorrow’s subject will be Eternity and Life after death. Come and get a dring at 18:45 at Källarbyn, discussions starts at 19h! Welcome!
1. Do you really believe that before the Big Bang there was nothing — neither space nor time?
2. Why does anything exist at all? Why is there a universe rather than nothing?
3. Is consciousness produced by the brain?
4. Do you believe there is something beyond the physical body — a soul, consciousness, energy, spirit?
5. Is there a higher power? Otherwise we would simply function like unconscious biological machines? How do you reason?
6. What is the "thing" which gives us consiousness, memory, feelings, love or is it all just biology?
7. What do you think happens before birth in the new started human’s brain and mind?
8. What do you think happens after death? Does consciousness end, transform, or continue in some form?
9. Why does life on Earth seem so extraordinarily organized and finely interconnected,- can it all be a coincidence of evolution, or well-done plan?
10. How could stochastic events, natural selection and evolution eventually produce human beings capable of asking questions that even those beings themselves cannot answer?
11. If you knew with certainty that there was no life after death, would you live your present life differently? And what if you knew there was?
12. Could death be less an “end” and more a change of state — or is this simply an idea humans create because we cannot accept non-existence?
13. Is life a "biologic-evolutionary accident", "a Gods gift" - or how would you phrase it? 14.
14. Maybe vote at the end - Life after death YES or NO?! Welcome!
welcome!

Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎
Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic.
The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌
📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the Whatsapp groups,

along with jump-off points to get the conversation going.
When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture.
