James Murphy - TDD is dead, long live TDD!
Details
We’re excited to confirm the speakers for our Practically AI Manchester event on 19 March, hosted by AND Digital.
🎤 James Murphy
Tech Principal at AND Digital
Talk: TDD is dead, long live TDD!
In the rush to deploy autonomous agents, many teams have fallen into the habit of “prompt and pray”. Give an LLM a goal, let it generate code and hope the output resembles what was actually needed.
James will explore how Test Driven Development is becoming a powerful structure for agentic engineering, helping teams avoid broken deployments, runaway token costs and unpredictable results when working with AI driven workflows.
🎤 Parham Majdabadi
Talk: How AI is Reshaping the Software Development Sprint
Parham will share a real world example from a recent project where a feature that resulted in around 3,000 lines of code required only 9 lines written manually.
He’ll talk through the approach used, the challenges the team faced and what they learned about integrating AI into the development sprint.
🎤 Perminder Dhillon
Product Developer at AND Digital
Talk: How MCP and Agents are changing the way we work
Perminder works across AI, cloud and security operations, with hands on experience building products using tools like Azure, AWS and RAG based systems.
In this session, he’ll explore how MCP allows AI to securely plug into everyday tools such as Slack, AWS and databases without the need for complex custom integrations.
He’ll also cover agentic orchestration, looking at how AI can break down complex tasks, handle errors and execute multi step workflows, as well as how these systems can be secured through permissions and human approval.
