Synopsis
In the rush to deploy autonomous agents, we’ve inherited a dangerous habit: "Prompt and Pray." We give an LLM a goal, watch it spin up a dozen files and hope the output resembles what we actually needed. But hope isn't a system, and in the world of Agentic Engineering, lack of structure is a recipe for high token costs and broken deployments.
Ironically, while Test Driven Development (TDD) has been dismissed by some in traditional development as "too slow" or "over engineered," it has quietly become the secret weapon for those building with sophisticated AI agent workflows.
