Hi Team,
Did you know that May 2 is International Loyalty Day. Loyalty is defined as allegiance. Critics of our current US President argue that his staff is made up of individuals who have blind loyalty to him which makes me consider - Is loyalty always a good thing?
I chose the photo above because I believe that dogs demonstrate loyalty better than anything on earth :)
- What does the word "loyalty" mean to you? Can you give an example?
- Can a person be loyal to more than one thing or person at the same time? Why or why not?
- Do you think loyalty is always a good thing? Are there situations where it can be harmful?
- Who is someone in your life that you consider very loyal? How do they show their loyalty?
- How do different cultures show loyalty—to family, country, or friends?
- Is loyalty more important in friendships or romantic relationships? Why?
- Can loyalty change over time? What might cause someone to lose or gain loyalty?
- Do you think animals can be loyal? Why do people often describe dogs as loyal?
- Have you ever had to choose between being loyal and being honest? What happened?
- Do you believe loyalty to a country means always agreeing with the government? Why or why not?
