Art in the Age of AI
Details
HI team,
Each work, we practice our English communication skills, while discussing a relevant topic. This week - Art in the Age of AI.
Artificial intelligence, or AI, can now create paintings, music, poems, videos, and even movies. Some people think this is exciting and creative. Others feel worried. They wonder:
- Is it still “real” art if a computer makes it?
- What will happen to human artists?
- Can machines be creative?
Art has always changed with technology. When photography was invented, painters had to rethink their role. When digital art became popular, many artists had to learn new skills.
Now we are in a new moment of change.
Let’s explore what this means for creativity, artists, and the future.
- What does “art” mean to you? Does art need human emotion to be real art?
- If an AI creates a beautiful painting, who is the artist — the computer, the programmer, or someone else?
- Do you think AI will help artists be more creative, or replace them? Why?
- Would you pay money for a piece of art created by AI? Why or why not?
- How do you feel when you see AI-generated music, images, or writing? Curious? Excited? Nervous?
- Do you think AI can truly understand human emotions like love, sadness, or joy? Why or why not?
- In the future, do you think most art will be created by humans, machines, or both working together?
- What jobs in the creative industry (music, film, design, writing) might change because of AI?
- Do you think schools should teach students how to use AI for art? Why or why not?
- Imagine the world in 20 years. What do you think art will look like?
