What Brings You Comfort? - Practice English
Details
HI team,
Before I forget, in the US, we changed time (we moved the clocks forward one-hour on 3/8/26).
With all of the struggles in the world today., let's take a break and focus on a light topic - "comfort".
Today we will talk about comfort—the things that make us feel calm, safe, or happy inside. Comfort can come from many places: food, family, memories, pets, nature, music, or small daily routines. Different cultures and people find comfort in different ways. Let’s share what helps us feel peaceful or supported.
###
- What does the word “comfort” mean to you? Can you describe a moment when you felt very comfortable or peaceful?
- What is your favorite comfort food? Why does this food make you feel good?
- Where do you go when you want to relax or feel calm? What is special about this place?
- Who in your life makes you feel safe or supported? What do they do that brings you comfort?
- Do you have a daily routine that makes you feel peaceful? For example: drinking tea, walking, prayer, music, or reading.
- When you had a difficult day, what helps you feel better? Do you prefer to be alone or with other people?
- What small things in life bring you joy or comfort? (Examples: a sunset, a pet, a child laughing, a warm blanket.)
- Is there something from your childhood that always made you feel comforted? A person, food, tradition, or place?
- How do people show care and comfort in your culture? Are there special foods, traditions, or words people use?
- How do you comfort someone else when they are sad or stressed? What do you usually say or do?
If you could create the perfect “comfort day,” what would it include from morning to night?
