Tracked Dolly Work and Pulling Focus

Details

Our next shoot is a filmmaking task oriented shoot. We are going to practice simultaneously moving a tracked dolly while pulling focus. The Cannon C-100 will be equipped with a Prime Lens (no zoom) and a Follow Focus rig. The 20 foot track will be at an angle to the actor's walk. As the actor walks the camera will be tracking at the actors side and moved along the walk. The track is at an angle to the walk. Thus the camera will automatically move closer to the actor during the action. The focus will need to be pulled to keep the actor in focus. Everyone that attends will be given an opportunity to (1) move the dolly and (2) as the dolly is moved "pull focus". We will of course need the usual crew to set up camera, lighting, and sound. A call for actors will be announced but if no actors show then crew members will have to fill in. Not to worry there are no script lines to remember.
