Learn and Practise Portuguese while Meeting People and Socialising
Olá! Tudo bem?
Edna Allen Languages is offering conversation meetups to allow you to practise Portuguese with an experienced teacher and other learners who are “no mesmo barco” [on the same boat].

During each session you will be able to
- express yourself
- meet other learners
- discuss interesting topics, and / or
- play games
Each time we meet we could do something different. It would go from a simple conversation who you are and what you do, to game/quiz night, or a guided conversation within specific topics.
We have week nights and weekend meetings.
We may organise face-to-face and virtual meetings to practise Portuguese and to make friends.
In our get togethers, we may choose to have:
- Free Chat / Bate-papo
- Teacher Guided Conversations
- Meetings for Beginner Speakers
- Meetings for Intermediate, Advanced and Fluent speakers
- Games,
- Quizzes,
- Picnics,
- etc.
----- And you may even get prizes at the end of game nights! -----
Although the teacher is Brazilian, speakers of European and other variants of the Portuguese language are welcome to join us.

Esta é uma noite descontraída e divertida, realizada online, para quem gosta de falar português, dar opiniões, discordar dos outros e, esperamos, rir de algumas das situações em que nos encontramos.
Não é aula, não tem apresentação nem lição de casa. Apenas português, situações interessantes (ou muito loucas!), opiniões diferentes e algumas reviravoltas inesperadas pelo caminho.
E você não precisa ser um especialista em português. Só precisa saber o suficiente para ter uma opinião!### Para quem é?
Todas as pessoas que gostam de falar português são bem-vindas, independentemente da variante do português que falam ou estão a aprender.
A anfitriã é brasileira, por isso o português do Brasil estará naturalmente presente na conversa, mas falantes de português europeu e de outras variedades também são muito bem-vindos.
E, se o português for a sua língua materna, está absolutamente convidado! Falantes nativos são muito bem-vindos para participar, partilhar as suas opiniões e contribuir para a diversão.

This activity is for people who can already express themselves in Portuguese, even if with simple vocabulary. You don’t need to be fluent or speak perfectly, but you should be able to understand a situation, share your opinion and say what you would do.
If you’re not quite ready for this yet, you’re very welcome to visit our website and book one of our courses. They’ll help you prepare for moments like this and build the confidence you need to take part.

Brazilian Portuguese Foundation Course Intro Session

This is a special introductory session for people interested in joining our upcoming Brazilian Portuguese Beginners A1 Foundations course.
⚠️ Please note: this is NOT a Portuguese conversation/practice meetup.
This one-hour session is an opportunity to meet your teacher, Edna, find out how the course works, ask questions and decide whether it’s right for you before committing to the full course.The 10-week course starts the following Monday, 12 October, and runs every Monday from 6:30–8:00 pm online via Zoom.
