 Multi-color 3D Printing Meetup

Details

UPDATE - we are moving the meetup to Tuesday, January 14th!

We are happy to invite you for a new meetup - this time about Multi-color 3D Printing!

On this meetup, we will have two talks around the topic of multi-color 3D printing with two different technologies (FDM and Inkjet).

  1. Tomáš Iser will present a workflow for model coloring and slicing using a new tool called ‘Pepr3D’. Pepr3D was developed at Charles University in Prague in collaboration with Prusa Research. It allows for manual painting of uncolored objects and geometry preparation for multi-extruder FDM printers. Supported by smart algorithms, the user can quickly and intuitively color his models and add colored text. Get your laptops charged und unzip your .STLs for a live demo!

  2. Tobias Rittig will show how resin-based Inkjet 3D printing works and how it is able to print multiple materials at super fine resolutions. Designed as a rapid-prototyping tool for the industry, it can print flexible, translucent and in full-color! He will briefly talk about the research in the field of Appearance Reproduction and why the best-looking 3D printed earth model is coming from Prague. Bring your printouts, as we bring ours so we can all learn from another!

Tomáš Iser and Tobias Rittig are both first-year PhD students at the Computer Graphics Group (https://cgg.mff.cuni.cz/) at Charles University. They are looking into high-fidelity 3D printing: How can we improve the looks of our printed prototypes to match what the designer intended?
