The Lost Weekend, on Friday 20.3 at 20h at Kino Ponrepo
Details
Hi everyone!
Please join us on Friday, March 20th, for a screening of The Lost Weekend at Kino Ponrepo. The movie begins at 20:30.
You’ll find me (wearing a bright pink/flowery scarf) at the Kino Ponrepo café from 8 pm.
The movie, directed by filmmaker Billy Wilder and released in 1945, follows Don, an aspiring writer, who ‘faces numerous challenges, including the impact of his alcoholism on his relationships with his girlfriend Helen … and his brother Wick. The film stands out for its raw depiction of addiction, making it a poignant representation of the struggles faced by those affected by alcoholism, particularly resonant in the post-World War II context.’ (See here.)
Come enjoy this screening and stay for a drink and a chat about the film afterwards!
If you’d like to join us, please purchase your own ticket here. Please note that seats are unassigned, so arriving a little early is recommended if you’d like to choose your spot.
Kind request: if you register to attend but are unable to join, please change your RSVP accordingly.
Hope to see you there!
