Details
Hi everyone!
Join us on Friday, July 17th, for a screening of All of a Sudden at Kino Světozor. The film begins at 19:45.
You’ll find me (wearing a bright pink/flowery scarf) at the Kino Světozor café from 7.15 pm.
The 2026 film, directed by acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Rjúsuke Hamaguči (‘Drive My Car’), premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier in the year and was recently screened in the Horizons section at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In the movie, '[d]irector of a care facility for the elderly, Marie-Lou strives to introduce an innovative care philosophy based on listening and respecting residents’ dignity, despite resistance from part of her staff. Her encounter with Mari, a Japanese theater director battling cancer, will profoundly reshape her path. By forming a deep, supportive friendship, the two women join forces in a shared struggle to “make the impossible possible”' (here).
Come enjoy this screening and stay for a drink and a chat about the film afterward!
If you’d like to join us, please purchase your own ticket here. I will be sitting in row 18 seat 4. Tickets are selling quickly, so advance booking is recommended.
Kind request: if you register to attend but are unable to join, please change your RSVP accordingly.
Hope to see you there!
