🗣️Presentation #1: Essay on Data Product by Jozef Reginac
Description: Many think data teams create reports, dashboards and pivot charts. But we think our purpose is to help make better decisions. Let’s take the Product Management framework and define the data product — with a bit of a plot twist.
Speaker bio: Jozef was the first data engineer at STRV. Once a long-time data analyst, he got pissed and became an analytics engineer thanks to dbt. Jozef likes good filter coffee, open source projects and filmography.
---
🗣️Presentation #2: Running Python Scripts Directly From Your dbt Projects by Jan Maly
Description: There are many use cases that you can't solve with SQL & dbt, but the Python ecosystem is perfect for that. For example, you must perform complex transformations or use ML models. Let’s learn about fal that allows you to run Python scripts directly from your dbt project.
Speaker bio: Jan Maly leads the Data Science Team at STRV. With a passion about AI and its potential to transform business, he’s been in charge of multiple data-driven projects involving Machine Learning and Advanced Data Analytics. Jan has also recently become a father.

🗣️Presentation #3: Data Modeling as the First Data Hire by Simon Podhajsky
Description: Coming into a company as the first data hire can be overwhelming — it certainly was for me! This lightning talk aims to distill the most important lessons for those who are considering the jump. (dbt can help.)
Speaker bio: Simon is a Data Lead at a small California seed-stage startup, though “Data Everything” is more apt. Prior to selling out, he worked in neuroscience research at Stanford and Yale. Loves talking all things dbt, the academia/industry interface, remote work or anything else!
🗣️Presentation #4: Boosting DX With Automated Data Sandbox Macro by Honza Rasa
Description: All about the power of dbt's macros and built-in access to models graph. Learn how to create an isolated (Snowflake) environment through dbt macro with all model dependencies — which comes in handy if you’re manually loading tables into your DEV schema or want an automated isolated schema for CI pipelines to dry-run your models.
Speaker bio: Honza works as a data engineer at Productboard, where he is mixing his experience from backend development with the data world. He focuses mainly on the data architecture and applying software engineering principles in this area.
