Especially in corporate environment, it's not obvious and CTOs keep searching for the right mix. This talk will explain why there is not a single truth and that in reality this has been there for a long time. I will go through my experience of early 2000's until now to give examples of how this problem was seen in different types of companies.

Metrics in Scrum, Kanban, DevOps: How not to shoot yourself in the foot, by Andriy Eydelman

Metrics is an essential tool for managers to measure the performance of their teams. But they are often abused, leading to misguided decisions and alienated team members. We will explore how to measure the software development process in iterative (Scrum, XP) and non-iterative (Kanban) cases. Few examples of statistical methods of process management, Shewhart's control charts, and Deming's common and special causes. We'll see how these methods can help you improve software systems and avoid missteps that may harm team morale.
